At Wheatland Presbyterian Church, we have believed that we are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ since our founders established the church. We glorify God and serve our community in many ways.

Some recent examples include:

• Support for missionaries around the world

• Helping New Orleans residents rebuild after Hurricane Katrina

• Habitat for Humanity in Joliet

• Filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child

• Support for Heifer International

• Ongoing support for local food pantries and Feed My Starving Children

Tabitha Circle meets monthly to knit prayer shawls, sew preemie layettes for NICUs in local hospitals, and work on other special projects. They also collect school supplies for local food pantries and homeless shelters for children in need. The Mission team also supports the Lifespring program at Wayside Cross Ministries in Aurora. Lifespring Ministry is Wayside’s long term transitional living program for women and women with children who have lost their housing due to addiction, abuse or financial reasons. This safe, loving “family” environment has the capacity to house up to 57 women and children and provides a six-month program teaching families the necessary skills to live independently. Women are encouraged to face their problems, plan for their future, and work toward self-sufficiency. Lifespring ministers to the whole person through Bible studies, biblical counseling, classes in parenting, finances, cooking/nutrition, GED tutoring and computer skills.

We are currently supporting the Presbyterian Church in Chomba (Cameroon) with the construction of Sunday School facilities.

“Wheatland Presbyterian Church celebrates an abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, doing compassionate works through our time, treasure, and talents, to serve our community and to glorify God.”
